The problem
What happens when the related data lives in another database or system?
An order may be in a relational database while a support event, a file, and an API response live elsewhere. Teams often export each side into a spreadsheet just to line up identifiers, with no durable record of how the sources fit together.

Record where the relevant data lives and which environment or version is safe to inspect.
Match the identifiers
Write down the keys, timestamps, and transformations needed to relate the sources.
Build toward one view
